Writing for Children

Camilla de la Bedoyere has been writing for children for about 20 years. Most of her writing focuses on the natural world; she has a degree in zoology from Bristol University (famous for its zoological and biological sciences and its links with research in the field) and is a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London. Camilla also studied geology at university, so she has a good understanding of the Earth and its natural processes.

In addition to her academic knowledge, Camilla has been helping children and young adults develop their literacy skills for many years. She has taught many children to read, has written more than 50 books for the home education market (science, maths and literacy) and also teaches literacy skills (specifically reading decoding and comprehension) to students aged 11-15 at a London comprehensive. Camilla’s specialist field is working with children with literacy difficulties, whatever their causes.
